Railway safety and security concept review meeting with TÜV Rheinland

Railway safety and security concept review meeting with TÜV Rheinland

Last June we celebrated the second safety and security review meeting with TÜV Rheinland at IKERLAN.
Having a clear route for the future certifiability of the UP2DATE concepts, architecture and solutions is of utmost importance for the project. In this meeting, we brought together our functional safety and cybersecurity researchers from IKERLAN, railway industry experts from CAF Signalling and certification authorities external to the project from TÜV Rheinland to discuss about the suitability of the research concepts of the project for the railway domain and indentify possible implausibilities or contradictions with respect to standards. Prior to the meeting, TÜV Rheinland reviewed the UP2DATE Railway safety-security concept focusing on the following aspects:

  • Validity,
  •  Correctness,
  •  Plausibility,
  •  Comprehensibility,
  •  Unambiguity,
  • Traceability,
  • Content with regard to possible non-conformances with the requirements

As a result of the meeting, the project obtained a possitive assessment report issued by the certification body.
