UP2DATE at The Autonomous main event

The Autonomous Main Event 2021 will take place on September 29th, 2021 in the Imperial Palace in Vienna and online. The event aims to facilitate discussion and networking for leading executives and experts from the autonomous mobility ecosystem and it will be filled with panels, keynotes and workshops all about safety, collaboration, challenges and solutions in the Autonomous Driving sector.

In parallel to the Main Event TTTech Auto has organized a workshop to discuss the role and importance that Research and Development (R&D) plays in the innovation process, where ideas are transformed into technological solutions, thus helping companies to focus in the mid-and-long-term horizon.

The workshop will start with an address by Max Lemke, Head of Unit Internet of Things at European Commission, who will provide an overview of current and future policy to support global technological harmonization for autonomous mobility. Stephane Dreher (ERTICO – ITS Europe)  will give a speech about the Cooperative, connected and automated mobility (CCAM) platform.

The workshop will present three major R&D projects that are playing an essential role in the autonomous mobility domain. These are:

  • PRYSTINE (https://prystine.eu): The European project PRYSTINE (Programmable Systems for Intelligence in Automobiles) is realizing Fail-operational Urban Surround Perception (FUSION) based on a combination of robust Radar and LiDAR sensor fusion feeding control functions with high-resolution data in order to enable safe automated driving in urban environment.

Speakers: George Dimitrakopoulos (Infineon Technologies AG) and Anna Ryabokon (TTTech Computertechnik AG)

  • NewControl (https://www.newcontrol-project.eu):  The main goal of NewControl is to deliver fail-operational holistic virtualized platforms for vehicular subsystems that are essential for automated driving (SAE Levels 3+), enabling i.e. mobility-as-a-service for next-generation highly automated vehicles.

Speaker: Reiner John (AVL List)

  • UP2DATE (https://h2020up2date.eu):  UP2DATE stands for intelligent software update technologies for safe and secure mixed-criticality and high-performance cyber-physical systems. The aim of the project is to develop a new software paradigm for SASE Over-the-Air software updates for Mixed-Criticality Cyber-Physical Systems (MCCPS).

Speaker: Irune Agirre (Ikerlan)

The workshop will conclude with an interactive and open discussion that will give an opportunity for all participants to jointly share and present their thoughts.
