Kick-off of the safety and security assessment activity

Kick-off of the safety and security assessment activity

Today, our researchers from Ikerlan have had the kick-off meeting of the safety and security assessment activity with TÜV Rheinland.

One of the key objectives of UP2DATE WP3 is evaluating the safety and security of the UP2DATE architecture and approach with an external certification authority.

The review seeks to get an independent review report on the suitability of the research concepts of UP2DATE for its future applicability on real industrial scenarios where certification is a must. To this end, WP3 will define a safety and security concept based on IEC 61508, IEC 62443 and UNECE regulations and TÜV Rheinland will evaluate the possible implausibilities of the approach and the alignment with the considered standards.

To this end, the project counts on Ralf Röhrig, a senior consultant at TÜV Rheinland InterTraffic GmbH with strong background on functional safety and cybersecurity. In the kick-off meeting held virtually today, the team from Ikerlan has introduced the UP2DATE project to Mr. Röhrig, and they have agreed on the scope of the assessment and next steps.
